Introduction

am writing this style guide to outline major aspects of my aesthetic. I will be including a lot of what I like, from what I choose to wear, my favorite bits of architecture, what I incorporate into my music, and just about everything that I enjoy. Think of this as an instruction manual for all things Digi Thorne.

With that said, I realize this may not be for everyone, but I know that there are a select group of weirdos (like myself) out there that would love to dive into something like this. I hope you enjoy and learn something new while reading.

Fashion

hen it comes to fashion, I am very particular in my tastes. I enjoy wearing vintage clothing from the Victorian, Edwardian, or Baroque periods, but I also enjoy some modern pieces from the 70s through the 2000s. I typically only wear black, but may wear cream or off white as a top.

I absolutely despise navy colored clothing. It is my mortal enemy. Sometimes when shopping in dimly lit clothing stores, I will often find a navy colored piece and take it with me, thinking it was black, only to find out that it was a trick!

I will also never wear indigo colored denim. I think it looks so ugly and bland. Occasionally I may wear black denim if it looks good (I do own 1 black denim ruffled poet shirt and 1 black denim jacket), but I will never wear denim pants.

Tops

s for my tops, I enjoy vintage poet shirts, or button up shirts with long 70s style barrymore collars. I also prefer my shirts to have ruffles or a jabot for added flair. I don't like small-collared shirts, and if a shirt doesn't have a long collar, I would prefer a frilled stand collar.

Over the shirt, I tend to wear vests. I usually go for black pinstriped cotton vests, sometimes plain black or red, or sometimes with a damask pattern. It all just depends on the top I have underneath and what the occasion is or how I'm feeling that particular day.

Poet Shirt
: also known as a poet’s shirt or a ruffled shirt, is a garment distinguished by its flowing, elegant design and historical associations. The shirt’s unique characteristics and rich cultural history make it a symbol of both artistic expression and sophistication.

Jabot
1 : a pleated frill of cloth or lace attached down the center front of a woman's blouse or dress
2 : a fall of lace or cloth attached to the front of a neckband and worn especially by men in the 18th century

Bishop Sleeve
: a long sleeve, gathered at the hem to a fitting plain cuff band or an elastic cuff. The sleeve is quite fitted at the armhole but gradually widens as it reaches the hem, where the fullness is contained with the cuff.

Bottoms

typically only wear slacks or corduroys. The slacks will either be plain black or pinstriped. I like a mid to high-rise fit with a semi-wide leg.

Slacks
: a pair of trousers that are in the style of trousers worn as part of a suit, and that are considered fairly formal but not as formal as a suit.

Corduroy
[plural] Corduroys
1 corduroys [plural] : trousers of corduroy fabric
2 : a durable usually cotton pile fabric with vertical ribs or wales

“Corduroy.” Merriam-Webster.com Dictionary, Merriam-Webster, https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/corduroy.

Footwear

like wearing big boots when I am out and about. I prefer platforms an inch or two off the ground, and a wide toe box with rounded-off fronts. I like when boots have little metal bits on them like deubrés, screws, metal fittings, or metal plates. Some brands I enjoy are New Rock, Demonia, and Harley Davidson.

When I am not out or am wanting to be a bit more formal, I like wearing low-top brothel creepers. With these, I also prefer them to be platforms about an inch off the ground.

Deubré or Shoelace Tag
: a small piece of metal, plastic, or leather that is centered between a shoe’s first two eyelets and typically has text or a brand logo on it. The laces are generally threaded like beads through two holes.
